On Wednesday night, Bella on Demand launched their new app. The app brings high-end hair stylists and makeup artists to your home or office. If you are in a time crunch, don’t know where to find a makeup, hair, or nail person and want to look awesome hassle free, this app is for you.
My friend Nikki and I went to the Launch Party to try out the services with some of the app’s beauty team. The event took place at Christo Salon on Fifth Avenue. As soon as we passed coat-check, a man with a tray of champagne glasses greeted us with a smile. Next thing we knew we were sipping champagne and getting our nails done.
From there we moved on to hair and makeup for “touch-ups”. Our “touchups” had us borderline red carpet ready. Or at least rosé carpet ready… if that were a thing. (Can someone please make that a thing?)
My stylist actually worked at Christo’s and suggested a couple of cute styles. Her suggestions were tempting, but I figured I had nothing to lose by telling her that more than anything I needed a trim. With my cut, if the back gets too long then things start looking a little weird. It was a little bold asking this stranger to cut my hair on the fly, but given the high-end reputation of the salon and my duty to be guinea pig for the app, I decided to go for what would best suit my needs. I was not disappointed.
We had similarly positive makeup experiences. I asked for a touchup, and Nikki was feeling adventurous, so she asked for going-out makeup. (We were going out to dinner after.) My makeup artist took into account what I was wearing, and together we decided on subtle eyes and cheeks with a bold lip.
The consensus? Quality beauty people who will work with you to get what you need. For a full list of services go here (http://www.wearebella.com/).
